You can blast a promotion to thousands of contacts at once, send a timely reminder to a specific customer, schedule sends for the right time, and even track everything in reports without leaving your workspace.SMS places your message exactly where it needs to be. In this article, you will learn how to create mass and individual blasts, understand how pricing works, and track the summary of your sends.Important Notice: Pre-approved TemplatesBefore any sending, please note this point: The SMS messages to be sent must be previously registered with the support team at the time the SMS channel is activated or afterward. It is only possible to send messages exactly matching the registered templates. The message written in the blast must be identical to the approved template, character by character, so have the approved texts ready to use at the time of sending. Without the SMS channel activated and pre-registered templates, the blast cannot be properly executed. To learn more, visit: SMS Channel ChangePrerequisites The SMS channel must be activated for the user. The message templates must have been approved by Blip support. The user must have the template texts noted down to reproduce them exactly. How to Send a Mass Blast Click on the Growth menu. Access the Active Messages menu. Click Create Blast. Select the SMS channel and click Continue. Choose the Mass Blast option. Add the CSV file with contact information and variables (if any). Choose the text type: Simple text, limit of up to 160 characters. Text with special characters, limit of up to 70 characters. In Message Content, write the message you want to send. The message must be exactly the same as the template registered with the implementation team. Insert variables if necessary. On the side, you can preview how the message will be sent to the customer. Define the blast forwarding type: Smart contact, select the smart contact list and the linked blocks list. Human service. Define the blast name and, if necessary, a tag. Choose the send type: Now. Scheduled (send scheduled for another date/time). Click Send. How to Send an Individual BlastThe steps are the same as for mass blasts, with one difference: you don’t need to upload a CSV.When choosing the Individual Blast option, just provide: The phone number. The contact name. The other steps (text type, message control, forwarding, name, tag, and send type) are the same as for mass blasts. PricingSMS charges vary according to message length and text type. Even if the message exceeds the limit (due to a variable or longer text), it is sent in full, but will be charged as multiple messages.Simple text (limit of 160 characters) Message Length Charge Up to 160 characters 1 message 161 to 320 characters 2 messages Over 320 characters 3 messages (and so on) Text with special characters (limit of 70 characters) Message Length Charge Up to 70 characters 1 message 71 to 140 characters 2 messages Over 140 characters 3 messages (and so on) Attention: watch the size of variables, as they can increase the total characters and raise the cost of the blast. How to Track the Sending Summary In the side menu, access Active Messages. Click on Sending Summary. Select the filter for SMS channel.
