How to publish your Chatbot to Messenger

Prerequisites:

  • Have a bot created;
  • Have a Facebook page.

To publish your bot on the Facebook Messenger channel, access the Blip Portal, choose the desired bot, enter the channel menu and choose the Messenger option.

Publishing in the Blip native application

Go to the Settings tab, and click the Use Blip native application button. The button will appear to continue the connection with Facebook and thus integrate your bot with Messenger.

Connecting with Facebook

  1. Click the Connect Facebook button. You will be directed to log in with Facebook and you will have to give Blip permission to access some information.

  1. Blip will find the existing pages in your Facebook account. Select which one you want to post your bot on.

  1. A confirmation screen will be displayed, informing you that everything is correct with the publication.

  1. Now, back to the Blip Portal, the connection information is already available for conference and configuration.

Publishing to your own Facebook application

Note: This is a setting for advanced users! Follow these instructions only if you know what you are doing.

 

By default, every bot published on the Facebook channel, through the Blip Portal, uses the Blip Messaging application, maintained by the Blip team, to send and receive messages.

This process facilitates integration with Facebook and greatly reduces the number of activities required to have a bot available on this channel. Despite this, for several reasons, some people / companies may wish to use their own Facebook applications in this process.

Blip allows any bot to be published on Facebook using not only the standard application of the platform, but also another customized application.

If you do not know how to create your own Facebook application, it is recommended to follow the steps of the official page through this link.

Attention: It is recommended that your Facebook application is configured for version v8.0. Otherwise, your application may have instabilities. You can define this information in the advanced settings of your application.
