Introduction

The General Data Protection Law (LGPD), approved in August 2018 and in effect since August 2020, is a set of guidelines for the protection of personal data of every citizen in Brazil. LGPD impacts all sectors and services, whether conducted online or offline.

STILINGUE, always striving to comply with regulations and preserve the security and privacy of our clients and the data we work with, presents a series of changes in our core operations to ensure 100% compliance with LGPD.

 

What is the importance of complying with LGPD?

LGPD ensures more security and transparency regarding the use of personal data on the internet, a topic that has gained relevance and concern among internet users.

As a result, companies have greater responsibilities in managing risks related to data processing, working preventively and in line with global trends.

Furthermore, this new context also brings about a change in market behavior, where the protection of privacy and personal data security becomes a competitive advantage for customers, consumers, and even employees, demonstrating trustworthiness in the services and products offered in the market.

 

What are the changes in operations with my STILINGUE platform?

The main change in the platform was the update of our API, and consequently, the integration with other tools. The new practices follow the current privacy compliance rules of our business partners (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube), as well as anticipating key LGPD guidelines. 

As a risk mitigation measure, the primary change in the STILINGUE API is to minimize the availability of personal data. In other words, information such as name, image, text, and other personal data belonging to individuals associated with them can no longer be accessed via the API - except for the ID. If you require this data, you will need to retrieve it directly from each platform's API.
