How to track lead entry using Smart Entrypoint / Tracker via Icebreaker: June 30, 2025 15:03 Updated What it is for and how tracking works: Smart entry points are messages enriched with invisible identifiers, making it possible to map the origin, media type, and campaign that generated a conversation. This functionality is only available for use on WhatsApp. It's not yet possible to track on other channels. The use of entry points aims to make it difficult for the lead to delete the tracking information contained within the message. Tracking isn't done using regular expressions, but rather through an invisible ID located at the beginning of the message, between the first and second letter of the ice-breaker message. Example: "H[invisibleID]i, I'd like to know more about this product." Only deleting the ID will cause the source data to be lost. The lead can delete it if they select the entire text + delete, so there is still a possibility of losing information, although the chances are reduced. Creating tracking message and link: Select the bot to which the campaign will be directed. Go to the “Growth” tab and select the “Tracker via Icebreaker” option. Click on “Create Icebreaker” to start configuring your link/message. Fill in the fields with the information you want to associate with the campaign identification. Icebreaker message: this is the message your lead will send to start the conversation with your brand on the chatbot. Origin: the place/social network where your lead will find the campaign. Example: Television Touchpoint: the element/media where the link will be available for the lead to interact and start the conversation. Example: QR Code Identification name: This field is free for adding information that helps identify the campaign. Note the 50-character limit. Example: BBB25 Campaign. Example: with all these fields filled in, when leads start the conversation through the tracked link, it will be possible to know that they entered through a QR Code scanned on television during the BBB25 campaign. Click on “Create.” Use the icebreaker: Copy and paste the link or the message. They will be enriched with an invisible code containing the configured information. And/or download the QR Code, choosing between PNG and JPG formats. Icebreaker Management: The icebreakers created in the chatbot will be listed in a table on the main screen, where it will be possible to: View the information assigned to each link/message,Copy the icebreaker URL, Download the QR Code. Checking the contact origin You can check a lead’s entry through the extras of that contact. Go to the “Contacts” tab, select the user who interacted with the bot, and look in the “Extras” section to see if the assigned information matches the settings made for the marketing campaign.
