Setting up Session Expiration and Timeout April 27, 2023 18:43 Updated A user’s session on Builder never expires by default, but you can change this behavior by setting a maximum session expiration time or a timeout for each block/flow step. To define a maximum timeout for a user only in a few steps of the flow, the functionality Define a timeout can be used in the desired block. Select User Input ➝ Enable the option Define timeout ➝ Inform the time desired. Timeout is defined in minutes. Define, in the same block, an output condition if the user’s response is not existing when reaching the defined time. If you want to define an overall expiration time, Session Expiration should be enabled in the Builder’s settings. Example as follows: The expiration time is defined in seconds. That is, users who do not interact with the bot for a period longer than the time defined in the session time will be automatically sent to the beginning of the flow, regardless of which part of the flow they are in (including human service). If you use a Router structure, it is still possible to set up a redirection expiration time, in seconds, where the user is forwarded to the start of the main bot upon reaching the timeout. Note: The time set must be an integer between 0 and 2.147.483.648.
