MFA Blip June 16, 2025 13:46 Updated The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on the importance of Multi-Factor Authentication and to present the available features on the Blip platform.What is MFA?MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) is an additional security feature for a user account. It aims to create a validation layer beyond the password to ensure that, even if personal data is exposed, a malicious actor will not be able to access that account. The CISA (Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency), a U.S. cybersecurity agency, states that using MFA reduces the chances of an account being hacked by 99%.Considering this security improvement, Blip has implemented two-factor authentication, which consists of two security steps: the first is the user’s password, and the second is a unique, temporary access code that must be provided immediately after the password validation.How to activate MFATo enable this feature, the user must access the Portal normally. In the upper right corner, go to “My Account.”After that, access the Multi-Factor Authentication window. Enable the feature and select the preferred authentication method.Supported methods are:EmailAuthenticator app When choosing “Email,” the user will receive a 6-digit code in the inbox of the email address registered on the platform, which must be entered to log in.For the authenticator app, a mobile device and an authentication app installed (such as Aegis Authenticator, Twilio Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.) are required. On the next login, the user will be asked to register the QR code displayed on the portal screen within the authenticator app. This way, the app will generate a temporary code to be used when logging in.I lost access to my authenticator app (TOTP). What should I do? If you have lost access to your authenticator app (TOTP) and cannot complete the login, our team can help restore your access.Paid plan users should contact support via the official support email.
