Brief description: Find a contact by ID or phone number and permanently remove it from your Blip bot, along with open tickets and associated data, to comply with deletion requests under the LGPD.

Introduction

The Delete Contacts extension removes a contact from your Blip bot directly through the dashboard. You can locate the contact by ID or phone number, review the displayed data, and permanently delete the record.

For example, when a customer exercises their right to deletion under the LGPD, you search for the contact by phone number, confirm that it is the correct person, and delete the record. When you delete the contact, the extension also closes the open or pending support tickets for that contact and deletes the context variables associated with it.

Note: under the LGPD (General Data Protection Law), anyone can request the deletion of their personal data at any time, and the company must fulfill the request free of charge and through an easy process.

Supported on the following channels: all channels available on the Blip platform.

Installation and setup

Install the extension on the bot where you manage contacts. If you use a Router architecture, install it on the Router so that the deletion also reaches the sub-bots involved in the conversation.

1. Go to Delete Contacts in the Blip Store. You can also open the Blip Store in your bot and search for Delete Contacts.

2. Click Install and choose the bot where the extension will be used.

3. Complete the installation. The extension will be available in the bot's extensions menu.

4. Open the Delete Contacts extension.

Attention: you need access to the bot in Blip and permission to install and use extensions.

How to delete a contact

Find the contact

1. In the Contact ID or phone number field, enter the contact's ID (identity) or phone number as registered in Blip.

2. Click Get contact. If the contact exists, the extension displays the data found (ID, name, and email, when available) for you to review.

Note: the phone number field assumes WhatsApp contacts. For contacts from other channels, enter the contact's complete ID (the identifier that contains "@").

Delete the contact

1. Review the displayed data and confirm that it belongs to the correct contact.

2. Click Delete contact.

3. In the Attention! window, read the notice that the removal is permanent and click Confirm.

4. Wait for the extension to complete the deletion before closing or refreshing the page. At the end, a confirmation message appears stating that the contact was successfully deleted.

Attention: the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
