CrossPosts Collection February 15, 2024 18:06 Updated Index: How It Works What is the Difference Between Dark Posts and CrossPosts Collection? How Can I Identify a Crosspost? Limitations How It Works Understand how the collection of different types of promoted posts from your proprietary pages works. Within STILINGUE, a crosspost is a Facebook post that has been mirrored – in other words, generated from another existing post – and will only consider the metrics of the original post. The main difference will only be in the display format: an image on your proprietary page published previously in the timeline but promoted or turned into a profile picture, for example. What is the Difference Between Dark Posts and CrossPosts Collection? First, we need to understand the differences between organic posts, dark posts, and crossposts. After being collected by STILINGUE, Facebook or Instagram posts will be displayed as dark posts if they fall within the following parameters: - Organic posts promoted from proprietary pages. - Ads created within the Facebook Business Manager. Posts of different formats and equal metrics will be considered crossposts by STILINGUE. To avoid displaying the same comments and metrics twice, only the metrics of the original post are collected, and the other post is mirrored, directing all metrics to the post that generated the crosspost. How Can I Identify a Crosspost? A cross post is displayed within STILINGUE with a copy icon on the post card. Note: In order to have crosspost identification on the platform, it is necessary for the post to have at least one comment. If a crosspost is not marked in your search, this is explained by the absence of comments on the post. Limitations Due to limitations in the API in the current collection model, the following points cannot be verified on the platform: Distinguishing the segmentations of a specific post. Showing which is the original post among all collected posts. Determining if the dark post was generated through promotion or as an ad within the Facebook platform. When accessing the Facebook Overview area in Owned Metrics, it is important to note that it is not possible to obtain the number of reactions for crosspost publications. The option to view this type of metric is available only for the "original" posts, meaning an existing post that generates other posts. If you choose to export the report in the Owned Metrics area, it is important to note that the metrics for crossposts will be zeroed out, as they are available in the original post. Crosspost publications can be identified by the "Cross Post" column in the export file. If there is a need to display this information on the platform, please contact your STILINGUE Account Manager to verify the possibility.
