Dark posts are paid Facebook and Instagram posts that function as a kind of "ghost posts" within these networks and are delivered to the user as an advertisement. How to create a dark post? To create a dark post, you need to have an account on the Facebook Business Manager (Meta Business Suite) —this is also valid for dark posts on Instagram, as both social networks are integrated. The Business Manager is a tool where your dark posts are created and edited. Access the Business Manager by clicking here. Within the manager, you have the possibility to create accounts for paid campaigns. The user who has access to the manager, only by being an administrator of the Facebook page, creates accounts and links them to the page to make paid posts, meaning every dark post is created within one of these accounts. Each account has a number that identifies it; this identifier is called Ad Account. For each post, a link is generated within the Ad Account used for its creation. When accessing the Facebook homepage, you can notice, on the left sidebar, the shortcut to the Meta Business Suite, the area responsible for managing ads, creating Dark Posts, and maintaining pages on the social network. On the Meta Business Suite page, some information about the connected ad account is found, and in the area indicated by the arrow, you can access all the tools. Next, click on All Tools, to access the Ad Manager. . Through the Ad Manager, you can access the Ad Account Settings. Within the Settings, you'll find various information, including People. In the People section, you'll find users who have access to this specific account (Ad Account): Take note of the points indicated in the image above: 1. People Users with access to this Ad Account will be listed here, and account administrators can add new users or remove existing ones. The user will receive an invitation to access the ad account and, upon accepting it, will gain access to the account. 2. Access Level This area displays the user's access level within the ad account: The user who granted this access; The date when the access was initiated. 3. Pages Here, you can view the pages that have posts linked to this ad account. How to find the Ad Account identification number? When accessing the Business Manager Settings, you can find the identification number of the Ad Account located at the top right of the page. Where can I view the dark posts I have access to? On the side of the page, there is a shortcut to Content, where the Dark Posts created by the page are listed. Within this area, it is possible to identify all publications from pages with access, whether paid or organic. In this area, you can also choose to create a publication, as indicated in the following image: Collection of Dark Posts by STILINGUE Comments on dark posts will be collected only if they have been made on one of the 100 publications in the last 30 days, due to an API limitation. This means that any comment made on dark posts outside this period will not be included in the system. Important! Currently, the Facebook and Instagram Business APIs only allow the collection of dark posts if the user who connected to the STILINGUE platform has access to the ad accounts where the dark posts are made. Attention! If the link to a dark post is not active due to a configuration error or a creation failure, this publication will not be linked to the official brand page. In this case, as the publication will not be directed to the correct page, the collection will not be carried out.
