[Extension] How to integrate Zapier with Blip September 30, 2026 19:24 Updated Introduction Features Installation and configuration Usage examples Testing and validation Support Brief description: Connect your Blip bot to Zapier and automate sending messages on WhatsApp, creating contacts, and recording events with more than 8,000 apps, without writing code. IntroductionThe Zapier extension connects your Blip bot to more than 8,000 Zapier apps and automates tasks between them without requiring programming. Blip can start an automation when something happens in the bot, or perform an action when an event occurs in another tool. For example: when a lead fills out a form in Typeform, Zapier creates the contact in Blip and sends a welcome message using a WhatsApp template, without manual intervention. FeaturesIn Zapier, each automation (Zap) has a trigger, which is the event that starts it, and one or more actions, which are the tasks performed afterward. The extension works on both sides: Blip can be the trigger or the tool that performs the action.Triggers available from Blip: Contact Update: triggers when a contact is created or updated in Blip. Event Tracking Dispatched: triggers when a tracking event is recorded in Blip. Actions that the automation performs in Blip: Send WhatsApp Message: sends an active message using an approved WhatsApp template, with dynamic variables, media (image, video, or PDF), and buttons. In Router bots, you can also redirect the contact to a specific subbot and state. Create (Or Update) Blip Contact: creates a new contact or updates an existing contact with name, phone number, email, document, city, and custom fields. Create Tracking: records a tracking event based on a category and an action to track the contact's journey and provide data for reports. Search:Find Contact(s): finds contacts in Blip by email or phone number. Use this search to condition the next steps in the automation. For example, when Google Calendar provides only a participant's email, the search retrieves the contact's phone number in Blip to send a reminder through WhatsApp.Supported on the following channels: WhatsApp and email. Installation and configurationThe extension works with both Router bots and service bots (Builder). Install it on the bot you want to automate.Open Zapier in Blip Store, purchase the extension, and click Start free trial.Choose the desired bot, open the Zapier extension, and proceed to the settings. In the Connection tab, copy the Bot ID and the Public Key. These are the two credentials that authenticate your Blip account in Zapier. In Zapier, go to Connections and create a connection of type Blip.Enter the Bot ID and Public Key copied in step 3. The connection is ready to be used in your Zaps and keeps communication between Blip and Zapier authenticated and secure.Note: if you access Zapier directly through the My integrations tab in Blip, the account is connected automatically and you do not need to enter the credentials manually.Important: to send active WhatsApp messages from a service bot (Builder), connect a parent Router bot that has the WhatsApp channel configured. Open the Connection tab, select the router under Parent router bot with connected WhatsApp, and click Save. The active message is sent by the bot responsible for the channel. Explore and manage integrations through BlipIn the Marketplace tab, you can search among the available apps and find preconfigured flows. To create a flow from a template, click Activate. In the My integrations tab, sign in with your Zapier account to see all the Zaps that integrate with Blip. The list shows the status of each one (on or disabled) and lets you open and edit any integration directly in Zapier. Usage examplesThe following examples are for demonstration purposes and use Google Sheets, but you can adapt them to any Zapier service, such as HubSpot, Facebook Ads, Calendly, or Typeform.New row in Google Sheets creates a contact and sends a welcome message in BlipYou have a Google Sheets spreadsheet where new leads are added. Each time a new row is added (with a name, phone number, and email), Zapier creates the contact in Blip and sends a welcome message through WhatsApp.In Zapier, create a new Zap.Select the Google Sheets app and the new row trigger in the spreadsheet. Instead of the spreadsheet, you could use a new lead from Facebook Ads or an opportunity created in the CRM. Fill in the spreadsheet and worksheet, and proceed to the test tab.Add a Blip-type block, connect your account, and select the Create (Or Update) Blip Contact action.Configure the block using dynamic variables. No field is fixed: they all pull data directly from the spreadsheet, which lets you customize each execution with that lead's information.Proceed to the test tab.Create a new block, add the Send WhatsApp Message action, and configure the template and variables according to your flow.In the test tab, publish the Zap. Without this step, the automation will not start running.Contact updated in Blip syncs with an external CRMYou use a CRM outside Blip and want to keep contact data synchronized. Whenever a contact is created or updated in Blip, it is also updated on the other platform. In Zapier, create a new Zap and select the Blip app as the trigger. Choose the Contact Update trigger. Connect your Blip account using the Bot ID and Public Key, and run the test to confirm that the data is being captured. After the Contact Update or Event Tracking Dispatched triggers, you can chain actions such as creating a row in Google Sheets, updating a CRM (HubSpot, RD Station), or sending an email through Gmail. Testing and validation Use the Test Trigger button in Zapier to verify that the data is being captured correctly. Simulate a conversation in the bot to generate a tracking event or contact update. Confirm that the data reached the expected destination (spreadsheet, email, or CRM). When finished, publish the Zap for it to start running.
