[Extension] How to trigger active WhatsApp messages through Smartico October 01, 2026 15:55 Updated Introduction Features Requirements Installation and configuration Usage example Support Brief description: Connect Smartico automation rules to Blip and trigger WhatsApp messages with approved templates populated with the data Smartico sends through a webhook. IntroductionThe Smartico (iGaming): Message triggering extension integrates the Smartico automation platform with Blip to send active WhatsApp messages. When an automation rule is triggered in Smartico, it calls a URL generated by the extension through a webhook, and Blip sends an approved WhatsApp template already populated with the received data. For example, when you create a rule that triggers after a player makes a deposit, Smartico sends the player's number and deposit data to the extension URL. The extension locates these values in the request body, populates the template variables, and sends the message to the player's WhatsApp. Features Trigger WhatsApp messages from Smartico automation rules through a webhook. Send WhatsApp templates already approved in the bot. Populate template variables with the data sent in the webhook body, using the [body.field] reference. Populate media and button variables when required by the template. Place the contact in a specific bot and flow after triggering the message. Supported channel: WhatsApp. Requirements A Router bot in Blip with the WhatsApp channel connected, which will be the message sender. At least one WhatsApp template approved in that bot. Access to Smartico's Automation Rules module. Each recipient's number in international format, with a + sign, country code, area code, and number (for example, +5511999999999). Installation and configurationInstall the extensionOpen the Smartico page in the Blip Store and click Start free trial.Install the extension in your bot and open the extension. It opens the three-step configuration wizard: Configure bot, Configure template, and Install automation. There is no authentication step: all configuration is completed in the wizard.Configure the bot that sends the messagesIn the Configure bot step, under Parent router bot with connected WhatsApp, select the Router with WhatsApp connected and click Save and continue. The extension will use this bot's WhatsApp to send the messages. If the WhatsApp not recognized in this bot warning appears, the selected bot does not have WhatsApp connected, and you need to choose another one.Configure the template and variablesIn the Configure template step, open Message template and select the approved template that will be used for the trigger. The extension displays the message body for review. For each template variable (Variable {{1}}, Variable {{2}}, and so on), enter the value that will populate it. To use dynamic data sent by Smartico, enter the reference [body.field], where field is the exact name of the field sent in the webhook body. For example, [body.name] retrieves the value of the name field in the request body. If the template has media or a button, fill in the Media link and Variable button fields. To place the contact in a bot and flow after receiving the message, enable Place user in bot and choose the destination Bot and Flow. This step is optional. Note: the number of variable fields follows the selected template. If you change the template later or change the number of its variables, redo the configuration and generate a new URL so that the fields continue to correspond.Smartico dynamic variablesDynamic variables correspond to the data you create in the Data field of Smartico Automation Rules. Each piece of data sent in the webhook body becomes a field accessible in the extension through [body.variableName]. Create the data required by the message in Smartico, for example:In the extension, reference each piece of data in the corresponding variable field. The names must be identical to the fields sent by Smartico:[body.name] [body.orderNumber] [body.deliveryDate]Generate and copy the integration URLAfter configuring the template and variables, the extension automatically generates the integration URL. Copy the URL and save it for the next step.Warning: the URL contains the extension's access key. Do not share it in public places or manually change its parameters, because anyone with the URL can trigger messages through your bot.Configure the webhook in SmarticoIn Smartico's Automation Rules module: Open Automation Rules and add an activity of the Webhook type. Paste the URL generated by the extension into the Webhook URL field. Select the POST method. Set the Content-Type to application/json. In the Data field, create the variables used in the message and a required phoneNumber field containing the number that will receive the message, in international format. Required phoneNumber fieldThe phoneNumber field is required for every trigger and identifies the number that will receive the message. If it is not included in the webhook body, the extension rejects the request; if the number is invalid, the trigger also fails. Send the number in international format, with +, country code, area code, and number:The other variables (name, orderNumber, deliveryDate) populate the template text. Usage exampleConsider a template with three variables:Hello, {{1}}. Your order {{2}} is scheduled for delivery on {{3}}.In Smartico's Data field:In the extension, map each variable to the corresponding field: {{1}} receives [body.name] {{2}} receives [body.orderNumber] {{3}} receives [body.deliveryDate] The contact receives the following message on WhatsApp:Hello, João Silva. Your order 12345 is scheduled for delivery on 09/10/2024.Before activating larger campaigns, test with a controlled number and confirm that the message arrives on WhatsApp. If it does not arrive, review the URL, the POST method, the Content-Type, and the phoneNumber field. Monitor the responses and errors from the first executions before enabling mass sending. SupportIf you have questions or problems with the extension, contact us by email at support@wiv.com.br.
