Activating Google Messages December 05, 2024 12:37 Updated To interact with an RCS agent, you need to have the Google Messages app on your mobile device. The app can be downloaded for free from your app store (click here to download from the Google Store). After downloading the app, some configurations are necessary for it to work: Set whether you want to link your Google account with the app. Whether or not the account is linked will not make a difference for our process. Set the app as the default for receiving messages (SMS). If the app screen does not update, close the app and open it again. Next, a screen will appear confirming the activation of RCS. To validate if the channel is active, just follow the steps below. Click on the account icon. Click on Messages settings. Click on RCS Chat. Check if the "Activate RCS Chat" option is enabled and connected. If it's disabled, just click to activate it. If you are unable to activate it, take a screenshot of the screen and send it to the person responsible for supporting you with the channel setup.
