Introduction

An official business account can be identified by the green seal that appears next to the display name linked to the number and is provided through an analysis of certain criteria by the Meta team, including the notability of the company. The business account badge shows users that they are interacting with the official account, not a fake one, generating greater credibility and trust. Users become significantly more engaged, and it becomes a way to know that the account they are interacting with is an authentic, notable, and active presence. As WhatsApp is used for customer service, private and sensitive information may appear in a conversation; with the badge, users feel secure about the account's authenticity.

Approval Criteria

According to Meta, the approval criteria are based on various factors and differ from the policies of other platforms. In addition to adhering to WhatsApp's Business and Company Policies, companies need to be considered notable, meaning they represent a well-known business, brand, or entity that is frequently searched for. Notability is assessed based on the presence of an account in news articles from publications with significant audiences. Paid or promotional content, including business listings or applications, is not considered as a source for analysis. Among the prerequisites for obtaining the seal are an approved company verification, an approved display name, and the configuration of two-factor authentication (2FA).

How to Apply

To request an official business account, follow the step-by-step instructions below:

Access the WhatsApp Manager in your Business Manager and, within the "Overview" tab, click on the phone number for which you wish to request the seal.
Verify if your number's two-factor authentication is configured. If it's not configured, please contact Blip Support and request them to set it up. Without two-factor authentication configured, you cannot request the official business account seal.

Remember that the company verification and display name approval processes need to be completed and approved before you can request an OBA (Official Business Account).
To check if your company is verified and WABA (WhatsApp Business API) approved, simply go to the "Accounts" > "WhatsApp Accounts" tab and confirm if the status shows as "Verified" for Company Verification and "Approved" for Account Status.

In the "Profile" tab, click on the "Submit Request" button in the Official business account section

The button becomes available for clicking as soon as the minimum requirements of the request are met. This indicates that Meta already has the necessary data for analysis, although it does not guarantee approval.
Click the "Send" button. Within 48 hours, when Meta completes the review of the request, you will receive a notification informing you whether the account has been approved as an official business account or not. If the request is rejected, you can submit a new request after 30 days. Official business accounts are not granted to company employees, test accounts, or Business App accounts.

Note: Previous approvals of the seal for a specific number on your WhatsApp account do not guarantee approval for other numbers (with different display names) associated with that account.

Review Process

Once the request is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Meta team, and you will receive a notification informing you whether the seal has been approved or not. In the event of rejection, you can submit a new request after 30 days, following the same process. Don't worry! Customers will appreciate the efficiency and speed of your service when they contact you, as the bot can interact with multiple customers simultaneously. Continue to maintain your online presence and keep your number's profile information up to date.

If your company has been approved as an official business account, access the WhatsApp Manager and check if you can view which phone numbers in your WhatsApp account have the approved seal and which do not.

Tips

Similarity between Display name and Legal Name or Trade Name

It is important that the Meta understands if the registered display name is similar or represents the same company. Therefore, it is interesting that the legal name or the trade name has similarity with the display name.
Remember that the CNPJ must be the same as the one registered in Blip and in the WhatsApp channel.

Same identification on all channels

All pages (Facebook, Instagram, website, and other social networks) should have the same logo and the same name identifying the brand, which should be the same as the display name, including uppercase and lowercase letters, spaces, and punctuation.

Clear information on the company's website

It should include the CNPJ, telephone, address, and a "who we are" section to introduce the company to users.
If possible, have social media icons directing to the company's profiles (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

Updated WhatsApp profile

It is recommended that the WhatsApp profile is complete to provide more details about the number of users.

Digital presence

Notability requires that a company represents a well-known or sought-after brand or entity.

Number health

Phone numbers with high rates of spam reports or blocks may not be approved as official business accounts.

Similar Display name

If there is another company (national or international) using the same or a similar display name, the badge may be rejected.
In some cases, companies try to use a variation, for example: instead of Blip, use Blip Brazil or Blip BR.
