How to change your WhatsApp profile picture

Keeping your WhatsApp profile picture updated is essential to convey credibility and strengthen your brand identity.

This is one of the first impressions your customers have when contacting you through this channel, so it is worth ensuring it aligns with how your company wishes to present itself.

 

Currently, updating your WhatsApp profile picture is a simple process, but it depends on having the correct access to your Business Portfolio – also known as Business Manager or BM – and your WABA.

Below are the guidelines to perform the process according to your access level:

  1. With access to Business Manager and WABA;

  2. Without access to Business Manager and WABA;

 

1. With access to Business Manager and WABA 

Changing the profile picture displayed to users is a simple process; however, it requires access to the WABA. If you have it, follow these steps:

  • Access the Business Manager.

  • Select the WhatsApp Accounts menu.

  • Select the WABA where the number is active.

  • Click on WhatsApp Manager in the bottom right corner.

  • Click on the gear icon corresponding to the number you want to update.

  • Select ‘Profile’ and then ‘Choose file’.

  • After uploading the file, select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page.

That's it! Your new profile picture will be visible when customers contact your number on WhatsApp.

 

2. Without access to Business Manager and WABA 

If you do not have access to your WABA, you will need to open a ticket with Blip Support. When opening the ticket, please provide:

  • Bot ID connected to WhatsApp;

  • Phone number for which you want to change the profile picture;

  • The new profile picture, following the parameters established by Meta:

    • Formats: JPG or PNG

    • Size: maximum of 5MB

    • Minimum resolution: 192x192 px

    • Recommended resolution: 640x640 px

It is important that the profile image follows these parameters to ensure a successful evaluation by Meta.
