Getting Access to Your Company’s WABA November 01, 2024 16:47 Updated Index: Types of WABA See what you will need to access an OBO WABA Validating if you have access to the Business Portfolio that generated your company’s WABA I have access, now what? Types of WABA Currently, there are two types of WhatsApp accounts (WABA): shared WABAs and OBO (On-Behalf-Of) WABAs. In the shared WABA model, the end customer creates and shares the WABA with Blip upon completing the account setup through Embedded SignUp. With this model, the end customer's business owns the WABA, and Blip has access to their phone numbers, message templates, and insights. In the OBO model, on the other hand, Blip creates, manages, and owns the WABA and uses it to send messages on behalf of the end customer's business. In this case, the end customer accepted the on-behalf-of relationship request in their Business Manager when the account was created. If your company does not have access to WABA and it is in the OBO model, you can follow this process to gain access. If you do not have access to your company's WABA and are also unsure about the model of your account, please contact our support or your account manager for this information. If your WABA is in the shared model and you do not have access, you will need to check with the administrators of your Business Portfolio or with those responsible for implementing the project. See What You Will Need to Access an OBO WABA To gain access to the WABA, you must have admin access or full control of the same Business Portfolio (Business Manager) used to create the WhatsApp account with Blip. Blip is responsible for providing you with the Business Portfolio ID so that you can locate internally within your company who is responsible for granting you this access. Note: Blip does not have access to your company's Business Portfolio, and therefore we are not responsible for granting you this access. You can check with your marketing team or company leadership, for example. If it turns out that no one has access to the Business Portfolio, follow these steps to recover your company's Portfolio. Validating if You Have Access to the Business Portfolio that Generated Your Company’s WABA Once Blip provides you with the Portfolio ID, copy and paste this link into your browser: https://business.facebook.com/settings/info?business_id=xWhere the letter x is, enter the ID you received earlier. In your browser, the URL will look like this: Note: Check with your company's marketing team or those responsible for marketing campaigns, as well as the Facebook or Instagram page. This link can only be accessed by people who have access to the manager, so if you are unable to access it, check internally with others to see if they can. This is the information page about your company’s manager. Verify that the ID displayed at the top of the page (both in the URL and in the area shown below) matches the ID you received. If you or your team have access to a manager with a different ID, it is important to try to recover access to the manager that generated your WABA, as you will need this access in the future to consult the information for your WhatsApp number(s). To attempt to recover access, follow the step-by-step guide in this tutorial. Without access to the Portfolio that generated your company's WABA, it is not possible to proceed with the next steps to gain access to the OBO WABA. I Have Access, Now What? To access the WABA, Blip will send a request that requires approval from an administrator of the client's Business Portfolio. To approve the request, simply access this menu or, within the Business Portfolio, select the “Requests” menu found in the left menu. Click on “Received” to view the request and then click on “Review.” You will see a series of information and click on “Continue” twice, and finally click on “Complete.” Once you finish, the WABA will be displayed in the list of WhatsApp accounts. Click here to access the WABAs and view the shared WABA. Now that you have access to the WABA: Do not delete your WABA or remove Blip from the partners. When you click on “Remove access” and remove Blip from the partners, your number will be deactivated instantly. The same happens if you delete your WABA from the Business Portfolio. You can customize the profile information of your WhatsApp business contact directly through your WABA. Access the WhatsApp Manager, select the number you want to update, and click on “Profile” in the left menu. Change the fields you wish to update. Click “Save” when you finish editing.
