Google Gemini Extension: AI for answers June 20, 2024 11:54 Updated Index: Introduction How it works? Installation and Configuration Example Support Introduction The Gemini extension allows you to use Google's latest conversational intelligence model on Blip. Gemini is a powerful model capable of discussing virtually any topic, given the right instructions, enabling you to create an agent, a Q&A assistant, or anything else you desire with Gemini! How it works? Use your Google account to obtain a key, so the extension can bridge between Gemini and Blip. Installation and Configuration Install the plugin normally from the Blip Store and then visit the extension page. You'll need to obtain your API key. Visit this page and click on "Get API key in Google AI Studio." Next, in the sidebar menu, click on "Get API Key" and then on "Create API Key". Follow the indicated steps to complete the key creation. If you are using a Google Workspace (business account), you might need to follow this guide to enable Gemini for your organization. Once you have created the key, save it somewhere safe and do not share it with anyone. Attention! The basic plan is completely free! However, it has some limitations, such as the maximum number of responses per minute. You can check the details here. In other words, if you need more simultaneous responses and more advanced functions, you can upgrade to a paid plan. There are more powerful models of Gemini available today. Return to Blip and paste the key in the indicated field (If you want to use Gemini 1.5, change the model accordingly). Optionally, you can modify the security settings of what Gemini can respond to. It's recommended to use the default settings, as they are already very secure and also do not overly restrict possible responses. These settings work based on the probability that a message fits into one of the categories, and not necessarily based on the intensity of the material in question. Simply click on "Save" to complete the installation. Have your own knowledge base Gemini allows you to create your own knowledge base using your company's documents. These files provide a broader context than simple instructions, enabling the bot to answer a wider variety of questions and meet other demands. Access the "Files" tab to view, upload, and delete documents. Gemini in the Builder To use Gemini in the builder, install the WhiteWall Chrome extension by clicking here. Next, add a block of type “New Integration” whenever you want the user to interact with Gemini. In particular, configure the instructions very carefully: try to limit the scope of topics that can be responded to, and always be explicit about the behavior you expect. You can find more information on how to configure the instructions in this guide. Also, remember to define (and use) the result variable. Adjust the other settings as needed for usage and testing.
