[Extension] How to integrate ActiveCampaign with Blip September 24, 2026 19:47 Updated Demo video Introduction Features Installation and configuration Using ActiveCampaign actions in Builder Sending data from Blip to ActiveCampaign Active messages via WhatsApp Support Brief description: Integrate ActiveCampaign with Blip to sync contacts, apply tags, and send active WhatsApp messages directly from your bot flows. Demo videoWatch a demonstration of the extension: IntroductionThe Active Campaign extension connects your Blip bot to your ActiveCampaign account. Within the flow in Builder, you can retrieve and update contacts, apply tags, and use the result of each action to decide the next steps. For example: when a lead provides their email during the conversation, the bot creates or updates the contact in ActiveCampaign and applies the tag corresponding to their interest. In addition to syncing contacts, the extension sends active WhatsApp messages. An ActiveCampaign automation calls a webhook, and Blip sends an approved message template to the contact. Features Retrieve an ActiveCampaign contact by email Update a contact with their first name, last name, phone number, and custom fields, creating the contact if they do not already exist Add a tag to the contact Check whether the contact has a specific tag Send active WhatsApp messages from ActiveCampaign automations, using approved message templates Contact and tag actions work in flows for any channel on the Blip platform. Active message sending is exclusive to WhatsApp.Requirements An active bot in Blip with the Active Campaign extension installed from Blip Store. An ActiveCampaign account with administrator access to the API. Connection validation requires administrator permission. The ActiveCampaign API URL and API key. Permission to edit and publish the flow in Builder. For active WhatsApp messages: a router bot with WhatsApp connected and an approved message template. Installation and configuration Activate the Active Campaign extension in Blip Store. Install the extension on the bot that will use the ActiveCampaign actions. The extension works in a router bot or in a service bot (subbot), depending on your operation's structure. Open the bot and access the Active Campaign extension through the bot menu. The configuration screen opens on the Settings tab. In ActiveCampaign, go to Settings and then Developer. Copy the API URL and API key.Return to the extension, paste the values into the URL and API key fields, and click Save. Blip validates the connection with ActiveCampaign and confirms when it has been saved successfully.Warning: the API key is sensitive information. Do not share it in screenshots or support tickets. After activating it, click Install extension to install the Blip Builder browser extension. It enables the Active Campaign integration in Builder. Using ActiveCampaign actions in Builder Open the bot's Builder and refresh the page. Click + and select New integration. Go to the Integrations tab and select Active Campaign. In the Action field, choose what the integration should do: Get contact, Update contact, Add tag to contact, or Get contact tag. Fill in the Email field with the contact's email address. For tag actions, select the desired Tag. For Update contact, fill in the contact fields loaded from your ActiveCampaign account. In Result variable, enter a variable (for example, activeCampaignResult1). The extension saves the action result in it, allowing you to check the result and branch the flow. Save the block, publish the flow, and run a test. Sending data from Blip to ActiveCampaignUse the Update contact action to send data collected in the flow to ActiveCampaign, such as name, email, phone number, city, and custom fields. After configuring the integration, publish the flow and run a test. Open the Contacts area in ActiveCampaign and confirm that the contact was created or updated with the correct information. Active messages via WhatsAppThe extension sends a WhatsApp message template when an ActiveCampaign automation is triggered. Configure it in three steps, in the extension's WhatsApp Automation tab.In the Configure bot step, select the parent router bot with WhatsApp connected and click Save and continue. In the Configure message step, select the approved message template.Fill in the template variables with the ActiveCampaign contact fields, such as contact[email], contact[first_name], and contact[phone]. For a custom field, use contact[fields][field_name]. If the template includes an image, enter the Media link. To place the user at a specific point in the flow, use the redirect option. The extension generates a webhook URL.In the Install automation step, copy the generated URL. In ActiveCampaign, open the Automations module, create or edit an automation, and add a Webhook action, available in the Conditional and Workflow actions category. Paste the URL into the webhook action and save.Test the automation and confirm that the message reaches the contact's WhatsApp. If the message does not arrive, review the steps and check whether the URL was entered correctly.Warning: installing the automation in ActiveCampaign is mandatory. Without the webhook configured, the message will not be sent. SupportIf you have questions or problems with the extension, email support@wiv.com.br. Need more help?
