How to send data from Blip to BigQuery

Introduction 

BigQuery is an extension that makes it possible to transfer data from the Blip platform to BigQuery, Google's data platform. With this integration, you can generate valuable insights from your customers' conversations. BigQuery was developed for companies that want to deepen their data analysis and have a data driven in your business.

This extension is paid for and developed by the company White Wall.

 

How does it work? 

The BigQuery extension has the following features: 

  • Connection of the Blip platform with BigQuery;
  • Sending contacts, messages and other events tracking;
  • Data storage in your own infrastructure without time limit;

 

Installation and configuration 

First, install the plugin normally from the Blip Store and then visit the extension page. 

To follow the instructions below, you must first have a project on Google Cloud. Consult Google documentation to know how to do this. Additionally, you must enable the BigQuery API in your project by clicking here. You can check other details here also.

 

Start by choosing a name for your dataset. Attention: You can only use letters, numbers and underlines. If it does not exist, it will be created automatically. Also, to reduce latency (delay), you can opt for location “southamerica-east1”, which is located in Brazil (São Paulo).

Now, we know what the dataset and its location, it remains to generate the JSON.

 

To generate the JSON, create a service account. Visit your project dashboard and in the left sidebar, select “IAM & Admin > Service Accounts.

 



Then click on “Create service account”. Associate name, ID and description with your new account. Enable the following roles for the account: a) BigQuery jobs user and b) BigQuery data owner.

 

Finish creating the account. Then, visit the account page and click on “Keys > Add key > Create new key > Create”.

 

A JSON file will be generated. AND this file you will upload to the extension page.

Now on the extension page, in Blip, fill in the following information:

a) The name of the dataset that will be created

b) The location where the database will be created

c) The file with the key associated with the service account

 

 

When uploading the file, click “Save”. The extension will now go live.
