[Extension] How to receive email alerts when your chatbot experiences issues with the ‘Logs and error monitoring’ extension October 26, 2026 18:57 Updated Introduction How to configure email alerts What the email contains Best practices Support Brief description: Configure email alerts in the Logs and error monitoring extension and discover failures in your chatbot on Blip as soon as they happen, without relying on complaints. IntroductionWhen a flow block fails in production, the problem usually only becomes apparent later, when someone who did not receive a response complains. The Logs and error monitoring extension sends an email as soon as the chatbot experiences an error, so the team can fix it before the impact grows. For example, if the integration that checks an order starts failing, whoever monitors the operation receives the notification immediately and can take action. In addition to errors, you can receive alerts when the flow logs events from specific categories, which helps you monitor critical steps such as sales, billing, or scheduling. Before you startBefore configuring the alerts, make sure you have: The Logs and error monitoring extension active on the bot. Activate Logs and error monitoring in Blip Store and install it on the bot to be monitored. An email address monitored by the team responsible for the operation. For event alerts: event tracking already configured in the flow, in Builder, so that the categories exist. You can also enter a new category when configuring the alerts. How to configure email alerts Open the Logs and error monitoring extension in the bot's Portal, on the Error logs tab. Click Manage alerts in the upper-right corner. The Manage alerts window opens. Under Email address to receive alerts, enter the address that will receive the notifications. Enable Enable error alerts. From then on, the bot sends an email whenever an error occurs. If you do not want to receive an email every time the same error repeats, select Send only when the error appears for the first time. The alert is sent once per error and becomes valid again after seven days. To be notified about flow events, enable Enable event-based alerts and, under Event categories, select the tracking categories you want to monitor. If necessary, select Send only when the event appears for the first time. Click Save. The message "Alerts configured successfully!" confirms the configuration. What the email containsEach alert includes the type (error or event) and the bot identifier in the subject, for example [Blip Errors] New error in bot your-bot. The body contains the first line of the error or event and a direct link to the extension, where you can open the details and investigate the occurrence. Best practices Use an email address monitored by the operations team so that alerts are seen quickly. For errors that repeat frequently, enable sending only for the first occurrence and avoid an excessive number of messages. Combine alerts with analysis in the extension dashboard: the email lets you know that something failed, and the dashboard shows how often it occurs and the block where the error happened.
