[Extensions] How to send messages on WhatsApp through Blip from any app with Zapier October 27, 2026 13:57 Updated Introduction Step-by-step Validation Support Brief description: Trigger WhatsApp templates approved by Blip when something happens in another system, such as a new order, a lead in your CRM, or a spreadsheet row, using the Send WhatsApp Message action in Zapier. IntroductionNotifying customers about every new order, lead, or completed form is manual work when the trigger comes from outside Blip. The Zapier extension solves this: it connects Blip to more than 8,000 apps and lets you trigger an active WhatsApp message as soon as an event occurs in another system.Sending uses the Send WhatsApp Message action. When the source app records the event (a new lead in the CRM, a new order, or a new spreadsheet row), Zapier calls Blip and sends an approved template to the contact's phone number. To sync contacts between Blip and your CRM, see the article about contact synchronization. Before you start Activate Zapier in Blip Store and open the extension in the Control panel within the Portal. Have a Zapier account. Connect the bot to the WhatsApp channel. For bots built in Builder, open the extension's Connection tab and select a parent Router with WhatsApp connected. This connection is required to trigger active WhatsApp messages. Have at least one approved WhatsApp template. The action lists only templates with an approved status on the channel. Copy the Bot ID and Public Key from the Connection tab. You will use these two values to connect your Blip account in Zapier. Attention: sending active WhatsApp messages requires approved templates and may be subject to your plan's automation limit for the extension. Step-by-stepIn Zapier, create an automation and choose the app that generates the event, such as a CRM, spreadsheet, or order management system. Configure the trigger in the source app, such as a new lead, new order, or newly added row. Add an action and select the Blip app. Choose the Send WhatsApp Message action. Connect your Blip account by entering the Bot ID and Public Key copied from the Connection tab. In Phone number, enter the recipient's phone number with the country code. In Template, choose the approved template to be sent. Variable fields (Variable 1, Variable 2, and so on) appear according to the selected template. Fill in each required variable. If the template includes media, enter the file URL in Media variable. If it includes a button, fill in Button variable. If the bot is a Router, use Redirect user to subbot and Redirect user to state to direct the contact to a subbot or a flow state after sending. These fields are optional. Test the send to confirm that the message reaches WhatsApp. Activate the automation. ValidationCheck that the phone number is in international format, including the country code, and that all required template variables have been filled in. An invalid phone number or an empty variable will interrupt sending. SupportIf you have questions or problems with the extension, contact us by email at support@wiv.com.br. Need more help?
