How to verify your business in Meta Business Manager June 17, 2023 03:03 Updated Index: Introduction Business Verification in Meta Business Manager (BM) Domain verification Introduction The business verification process is the last step to activate WhatsApp as one of your chatbot channels, as mentioned here. Make sure you have already received the guidelines for publishing the channel. These guidelines, necessary for activating the WhatsApp channel, are sent by email to organizations that already have a Blip plan and have already gone through the process of activating the contact on WhatsApp. Hereis the step-by-step process for verifying your business in the Business Manager. Before we begin, the first steps are: Ensure that the Business Manager name is similar to the legal business name; avoid names such as “So-and-so's Business Manager” as these will not be accepted. To check your Business Manager's name, just access the Business Information page and, if necessary, click on “Edit” to change the name. Make sure the company's website is public, accessible, and that the information on it links to the company which is being verified. Note: make sure that your site has the SSL seal, that all user data that travels through the page will be encrypted and protected in case of cyber intrusions. This means that your website URL needs to start with “https”, that is, it cannot just be “http”. Business Verification in Meta Business Manager (BM) In this process, Facebook will check the veracity of the company and will validate some specific points. For this, we suggest that you follow these steps: Before starting the verification step, access the Emission of Enrollment Proof and Registration Status website and enter the company's CNPJ to check the data. It is important that, for step 3, you use the data registered in this document (eg company name, address, telephone, etc.) to verify the company within the BM, as Facebook uses this source of information for this process. In addition to this proof, you can use other official documents accepted by Facebook to carry out the verification. Access the Security Center of your Business Manager/BM (screenshot below). Follow this documentation to guide you through the Company Verification step by step. Click "Start verification". When clicking the start button, read the information and click “Get Started” Choose the country in which your company documentation was registered and click “Next” As you already have your document in hand (step 2 of this tutorial), you will now copy the information directly from the documentation and insert it into the form. Organization name: enter the legal name of your company, exactly as it is written on the EIN. Street address: enter the address of your company registered in the EIN. If the address is out of date and you do not have other documentation with the correct address, enter the outdated address that appears on the EIN. In this field, preferably insert the street/avenue, number and apartment/room. Other complements, such as neighborhood, etc that specify the location can be inserted in the field below, where it appears as “Street address 2/Locality” City, state and postal code: fill in this information according to your EIN Phone number: the number to be entered in this step as a business phone is not necessarily the number that will be activated in Blip, it is just a business phone number so that Meta can validate the business. You can inform the number registered in the EIN or another corporate telephone number. If you do not have a corporate telephone number and its respective proof, that is, a telephone account showing that this number is linked to the same corporate name entered in the first field, enter the telephone number present in the EIN. Website: Enter your company's website. Make sure your website has a visible business legal name and EIN number. We recommend that this information be inserted in the footer of the main page of the site. Tax identification: insert the EIN number Finally, click “Next”. 6. You may be directed to the “Select your organization” step. This page is displayed when Meta finds information about your company in public records. You must select the option that corresponds to the correct information related to your company. Make sure that all information is correct (name, address, telephone and/or website). If you cannot find an option which all information matches, select the last field: “My organization isn’t listed”. After that, click on “Next”. 7. If you are not directed to the “Select your organization” step, after entering your registration data, you will be directed to the “Select a contact method” step. You will need to receive a verification code to complete this step, so this code may be received via email, voice call or SMS. You can also complete business verification by verifying your company's website domain, which does not include receiving a code. Pay attention to the tips below to choose the best method to prevent your company from not being verified. E-mail: you can choose this option if you have a corporate email, which has the same domain as the company's website. When this option is selected, Meta checks whether the informed website has an explicit relationship with the company, so it is necessary that your company's legal name and EIN number are present on the website's main page. We suggest adding this information to the footer of the company's website. If this information is not present on your website, before selecting this option and moving forward in the process, ask your company's IT team to add the information on the website. When they're done, you can continue the verification process and receive the code by email. Phone call or Text message (SMS): both options will validate whether the phone number entered is related to your company, that is, you need a corporate phone number with a receipt associated with the same business name you entered. In the first step, we enter the telephone number registered with local authorities. If you choose one of these options, you will be taken to the screen to send the code to the number you entered in the first step. If the phone number registered with local authorities is not available to receive the code, click on “Back” and change the phone number to enter another corporate phone number. Attention: check that your telephone bill shows the number used and the same business name informed in the previous step. Domain verification: to select this option, you must have previously verified your company's domain in the business manager. At the end of this article, we show you the step-by-step process to verify the domain. If your domain has not yet been verified, follow the step by step tutorial to verify the domain first and then go back to the business verification process. 8. In the next step, you must attach the documents to prove the information you entered about the company in Step 1. Insert the EIN in both fields, as the same document can be used more than once. To prove the legal name, you can enter a business license, Certificate of Incorporation or tax or VAT registration certificate. To prove the address and/or telephone number, you can enter the utility bill, bank statement or business license with your address and phone number on it. Avoid documents that are of poor image quality or documents that were scanned in the wrong position. Give priority to original PDF documents. Learn more about the documents accepted by Meta. Click “Next”. 9. If you selected the option to receive the code by email, you must enter your corporate email, with the same domain as the company's website. If you have selected to receive the code by phone call or text message, you will be asked to choose the language of the call. In both options, click on the corresponding button to send the code. You didn't receive the verification code: Try requesting another verification code. If you still don't receive it, learn how to troubleshoot phone calls. If you requested a code via email, learn how to troubleshoot email deliverability issues. Note: if you choose to receive the code by phone call, it is important that the number does not have an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) active on the number you want to use. (you can disable IVR during the process and enable it again afterwards). 10. Once you receive the code, enter it in the requested field. Click”Next”. 11 . Finally, click on “Done”. The information and documents will be analyzed and soon, you will receive feedback on sending the information. Domain verification Verification by domain is one of the ways that, if you have easy access to your website's infrastructure, we can choose to follow. This is because Meta's verification is faster, although it does not mean that it will verify the company only with this option of verifying by domain. This part is a little more technical, so if you don't have direct contact with the site's infrastructure settings, we can opt for the verification methods mentioned above. This method consists of adding a TXT record to your DNS Domain Name System configuration. Facebook gives us a generic walkthrough, but it varies from host to host. To view the generic step, follow these steps: Go to the “Brand Security” menu; Click on Domains and then on “Add”; Add your company's domain, that is, the website without “www” or “https”; After adding, select the option “Update DNS TXT record with your domain registrar” and the record will be in bold. In case you prefer any of the other methods, you can also select it instead of the option related to the TXT record; The steps that are shown above are standard for all website hosts. However, each host has its specificity for inserting the TXT. Here are step-by-step examples of some hosts: AWS - Amazon Cloudflare Godaddy HostGator Locaweb KingHost Syscoin If your website host is different from these then this is not a problem. Just ask the host support for the manual on how to insert the TXT record in the DNS configuration. After checking your website host, continue the steps: Add the TXT record to your DNS server and wait for the record propagation time indicated by your provider (in general, it propagates within 5 minutes); Click on “Verify domain”; Check if “Verified” appears in green in front of the domain. Return to the security center tab; Start the company verification by following all the given steps. If necessary, go back to the steps above in this tutorial; In the “Select a contact method” step, select the domain verification option. Insert the necessary documents and click “Next”; Click on “Verify”. After completing the steps in your BM (Business Manager), Facebook can blip up to 6 working days to give a return regarding the validations. This return includes two scenarios: One of them saying he still needs more information and letting us know what it is. Another saying that the verification was successful. If you have any questions during the process, please feel free to contact us at cs.blip@blip.ai or by replying to the email you received regarding Company Verification.
