Continue here: How to configure QnA Maker November 07, 2022 15:07 Updated Continuation of the 1st article: To use the QnA Extension, you need to integrate it to a QnA Maker or Cognitive Service resource, in Microsoft Azure. If you did not create a resource, read the documentation and, after completing the steps found in the “Create a new QnA Maker service” section, come back here to follow the instructions below. If you already created a resource, you will need two pieces of information to integrate the QnA Maker Extension. They are: Key Endpoint To get these data, follow the instructions below in the Azure portal: Use the search box or click on “All Resources” and find the QnA Maker resource you will use. Check the type. It can be Cognitive Service or QnA Maker. Click on the resource and then on the “Keys and Endpoints” option on the left menu. Copy one of those keys (it can be any one of them) and paste it on the settings screen in the QnA Maker Extension: Come back to the Azure Portal, copy the Endpoint of the same resource, and paste it on the settings screen, in the QnA Maker Extension: Create a knowledge base To finish the configuration, the last step is to create a knowledge base in the resource assigned at the beginning. Just select “I want to create a new knowledge base” and click on the “Save” button. Then you will be taken to the creation of questions and answers directly on the extension. (Optional) Using a preexisting knowledge base If you wish, you can link the QnA Maker Extension to a preexisting knowledge base in the resource already informed by you. To do it, access the desired knowledge base in the https://www.qnamaker.ai/ portal and copy the knowledge base ID searching for the kbId parameter in the URL. Then, still in the QnA Maker Extension settings, select the option “I want to use a knowledge base I already have” and paste the copied datum in the indicated field. Finally, click on the “Save” button and access the content already created to edit it directly in the Extension. Attention: Even informing the existing Knowledge Base ID, you still need to fill the first two fields in the settings screen (Key and Endpoint) to make it work properly. Attention points: The extension settings, that is, the resource’s and the knowledge base’s definition to which it will be linked in the QnA Maker can be done only once per bot, and it cannot be edited once you click on Save. Each knowledge base can be linked to only one bot, that is, if a knowledge base was already linked to a bot previously, you will not be able to configure it using the extension in a new bot. If you choose to configure it using a preexisting knowledge base automatically, it will be renamed as QnA Maker, getting the same name of the bot that is activating the extension. Next steps: After the initial configuration, you will create or edit questions and answers in your knowledge base. At the end of this step, you must link your bot to this knowledge base. To that end, follow the this article’s instructions and enjoy the whole potential of using Artificial Intelligence in your Smart Contact.
