Context of phone number deletion Deletion of a phone number from WhatsApp is requested in certain situations. To effectively perform this process, it must be done by the WhatsApp account administrator in the Meta Business Manager. Important: The phone number cannot be deleted if it has been used for paid conversation traffic within the last 30 days. If this is the case, clicking on the deletion option will redirect to the Insights page, which will display the date of the last sent message. How to perform the number deletion on WABA To access your WABA (WhatsApp account), log in to the Business Manager and select your company. In the left menu, click on "WhatsApp Accounts". Then, go to the "Settings" section and at the bottom of the page, select "WhatsApp Manager". Once you're in the WhatsApp Manager, on the left side of the screen, navigate to the "Account Tools" tab and select "Phones". After that, check the registered number(s) in your Manager. When you locate the number you wish to delete, you can navigate to the right side of the page and select the trash bin icon with the label "Delete". The information below will appear to proceed with the process; simply click "Next". You need to fill out all the required information to perform the deletion as desired. In the first field, enter your Facebook password, and in the second field, provide the reason for the deletion. Once the deletion is completed, the number can be used on the consumer's WhatsApp app or re-registered on the WhatsApp Business application. In some cases, the deletion process may take approximately 10 minutes. It's important to note that different rules apply to deleted phone numbers that have been banned from the platform. How to check Insights? To confirm if any paid messaging activity has been performed within the last 30 days, you can proceed with the analysis directly in the WhatsApp Manager. Select the "Account Tools" field and then "Insights" from the left menu: Next, apply a date filter to check whether deletion is possible or not. For instance: if you wish to proceed with the account deletion on 24/07, you need to check the data from 24/06 to 24/07. After selecting the date range, click on "Update": If the "Paid Conversations" field shows any number other than 0, you will need to wait for 30 days after the last paid conversation to proceed with the number deletion. For example: if the last paid conversation for the number was on 23/07, you can only delete the number after 24/08.
