This badge is provided after an analysis based on several criteria by Meta's team, including the company's notability. The business account badge shows users that they are interacting with the official account and not a fake one, building greater credibility and trust. Users are more likely to engage significantly, and the badge serves as a way for users to confirm that the account they are interacting with is an authentic, notable, and active presence. Since WhatsApp is often used for customer service, private and sensitive information may be exchanged in conversations. The badge ensures users feel confident in the authenticity of the account. Approval Criteria According to Meta, the approval criteria are based on various factors and differ from the policies of other platforms. In addition to complying with WhatsApp's Business and Commercial Policies, businesses must be considered notable — meaning they must represent a widely recognized company, brand, or entity that is frequently searched for. Notability is assessed based on the presence of the account in news articles from publications with significant audiences. Paid or promotional content, including business listings or apps, is not considered as a source of analysis. The prerequisites for obtaining the badge include an approved business verification, an approved display name, and two-factor authentication (2FA) set up. How to Request To request an official business account badge, follow these steps: Access the WhatsApp Manager in your Business Manager account. Within the "Overview" tab, click on the phone number for which you want to request the badge. Check if two-factor authentication (2FA) is set up for your number. If it is not, contact Blip Support and ask them to set it up for you. Without two-factor authentication configured, it will not be possible to request the official business account badge. Remember that the business verification process and the display name approval must be completed and approved before you can request an OBA. To check if your business is verified and the WABA is approved, simply go to the "Accounts" tab > "WhatsApp Accounts," and confirm if the statuses "Verified" appear under Business Verification and "Approved" appears under Account Status. In the "Profile" tab, click the "Submit Request" button and fill in the required information. To prove that your business is notable, you can submit up to 5 links to reputable publications. We recommend submitting news articles about your company published on websites with significant relevance and visibility. Additionally, you should provide links to other social media pages of the company, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, etc. Country and Operating Language: Enter according to the location of your business. Support Links: These are articles, blog posts, or independent reviews that demonstrate your business is well-known and recognized by consumers. Provide links to publications that clearly mention your business, and prioritize more relevant portals. Do not include: your website, your social media, or self-published, paid, or promotional content. Additional Support Information: Provide a detailed description of your company. At this point, don't hold back—mention the cities where your business operates, the main business activity, provide links to your social media profiles, and include any other relevant details. Click the "Submit" button. Within 48 hours, after Meta completes the review of your request, you will receive a notification informing you whether the account has been approved as an official business account or not. If the request is rejected, you can submit a new one after 30 days. Official business accounts are not granted to company employees, test accounts, or Business App accounts. Note: Previous approvals of the badge for a specific number on your WhatsApp account do not guarantee approval for other numbers (with different display names) associated with that account. Review Process Once submitted, the request will be reviewed by Meta's team, and you will receive a notification informing you whether the badge has been approved or not. If the request is rejected, you can submit a new one after 30 days, following the same process. Don't worry! If your business is approved as an official business account, access the WhatsApp Manager to check which phone numbers associated with your WhatsApp account have been approved for the badge and which ones have not. Tips Similarity Between Display Name and Legal or Trade Name Meta needs to understand if the registered display name is similar to or represents the same business. Therefore, it’s a good idea for the legal name (razão social) or trade name (nome fantasia) to be similar to the display name. Remember, the CNPJ (Brazilian tax ID) must match the one registered in Blip and the WhatsApp channel. Consistent Identification Across All Channels All pages (Facebook, Instagram, website, and other social media) should have the same logo and the same name identifying the brand. This should be the same as the display name, including capitalization, spaces, and punctuation. To change the display name, you must contact our support team through the website support.blip.ai or via the WhatsApp number (+55 31 3349-6201). Clear Information on the Company Website Your website should include the CNPJ, phone number, address, and a "Who We Are" section to present your company to users. If possible, include social media icons linking to your company’s profiles (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Updated WhatsApp Profile It’s recommended that your WhatsApp profile has all fields completed to provide more details about the number to users. Digital Presence Notability requires that a company represents a well-known or widely searched brand or entity. It’s important to share your digital presence (links and screenshots of news portals, websites with large audiences, Instagram, Facebook, etc.), ensuring the company’s name matches the display name exactly. In the review, paid or promotional content, including business listings and apps, is not considered. If the company has a verified badge on any social network, it’s important to provide a screenshot as supporting evidence. Number Health Phone numbers with high rates of spam reports or blocks may not be approved as official business accounts. Partnerships If your business has partnerships with any relevant companies, it’s important to provide evidence to further increase your chances of approval. Similar Display Name If another company (national or international) uses the same or a very similar display name, the badge request might be rejected.
