DAU - Daily Active User June 06, 2022 16:45 Updated Index: What is DAU? What forms a DAU? How is the DAU accounted for? What is DAU? DAU stands for Daily Active User. It is the metric used by the Blip platform to count users who, during the day, exchanged messages with a chatbot. What forms a DAU? The DAU is the junction of the information of Date, chatbot, user (example: phone number on WhatsApp) and the Channel. How is the DAU accounted for? The DAU is counted both if the chatbot sends a message to the user and if the user sends a message to the chatbot. Only messages with router chatbots and chatbots published directly on the channel will be counted. A DAU is counted in one user-chatbot or chatbot-user interaction window over a 24-hour period (between 00:00 and 23:59) and by channel. Situation 1: If the customer or company starts the conversation and there is an answer on the same day and on the same channel, only 1 DAU will be counted. Situation 2: If the customer or company starts the conversation on the same day, on different channels, 1 DAU will be counted for each channel. Example: A conversation was started on WhatsApp and also on Instagram, so for that day we will have 2 DAUs counted. Situation 3: The customer starts the conversation with the company on a given day, through any channel, and the company responds the other day, so we will have 1 DAU for the conversation initiated by the customer and another DAU for the customer's response the other day.
