What Can I Do When I Have Trouble Accessing or Using STILINGUE? May 07, 2024 15:07 Updated Index: Introduction Step-by-step Introduction Sometimes, slowness on the STILINGUE platform or the inability to perform certain actions are associated with external factors. The browser used and its version, browser extensions, connection, and configuration are examples of reasons for an apparent issue. Before opening a support request, you can perform some basic actions that often resolve the issue. Step-by-step Learn how to check available information and optimize your use of the platform: 1. Clearing Cache and Cookies The first action to take is to clear the browser's cache and cookies. Both groups store files so that you can save browsing data. However, it's essential to perform periodic cleanup to prevent slowness problems related to cache and cookies. To clear the data, follow these steps: 1.1 Open the browser. Note that STILINGUE currently only supports Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. For Google Chrome, you should do the following: 1.2 Press the commands CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE; 1.3 When the "Clear browsing data" window opens, click on the "Advanced" tab, select the option corresponding to cookies, and the option corresponding to cached files (offline site data); Note: Do not select the password option to avoid losing access to some pages. 1.4 Choose "Always" for the time range option; 1.5 Click "Clear data". Wait for the cleanup to complete and then access your STILINGUE account again. For Microsoft Edge, the process is as follows: 1.6 Access the menu in the top-right corner and click "Settings"; 1.7 In the left menu, click on "Privacy, search, and services"; 1.8 On the main page, find the option "Clear browsing data" and click the "Choose what to clear" button; 1.9 Just like in Chrome, you should select only the options corresponding to cookies and cache, and select "Since the beginning" for the time range. After completing this step, click "Clear now". 2. Incognito (Private) Mode When certain information is not loading on the page you are accessing, it's essential to test it in an incognito (private) tab to see if the behavior repeats there. This is because incognito tabs typically do not have extensions (although some extensions may be allowed by the user in incognito mode), cache, or plugins that can hinder browsing. If the page loads normally in the incognito tab, it means that some extension is preventing the page from functioning correctly, or there is a problem with the browser, not with the STILINGUE page or system. These extensions are typically ad blockers like ublock, adblock, privacy badger, among others. In general, these extensions block trackers and ADS. Besides affecting page functionality, these extensions also compromise analyses by our technical team if irregular behavior is detected. The recommendation is to disable them on the STILINGUE domain, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of the extensions without having to uninstall them. To open an incognito (private) tab: 2.1 Press the commands CTRL + SHIFT + N After that, simply type the name of the site you would like to visit, in this case: https://warroom.stilingue.com.br Note: If the incognito tab did not work (some extensions may be allowed in incognito mode), to avoid removing extensions from your browser, we recommend disabling them one by one and testing to see if there is a connection between the extension and the blocking of access to the STILINGUE domain or a specific functionality. 3. DNS Server DNS servers are responsible for locating and "translating" website addresses. By hiring an internet provider, most users do not need to configure a DNS server because the provider performs this configuration. However, many providers often use their DNS resolvers, which can result in a poor browsing experience for users, causing delays in accessing and navigating certain websites. We recommend using the Google Public DNS and Cloudflare DNS servers: Google Public DNS: Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4 Cloudflare: Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1 Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.1 To configure them, follow the steps below: For Windows Users: Access the Start menu and search for cmd (it will open the Command Prompt window). Type ncpa.cpl Right-click on the network you are using Access Properties Access Properties of Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Enter the DNS server data of your choice Click OK Close Close the Command Prompt Clear Browser Cookies All these steps are shown in the GIF below: For Mac Users: Access System Preferences Access Network Select the network you are using Click Advanced Access the DNS field Enter the DNS server data of your choice Click OK Apply Close System Preferences Clean browser cookies You can follow these steps through the GIF. For Linux Users: For Linux users, simply execute the following command with the DNS server data of your choice. su -c "echo 'nameserver 8.8.8.8\nnameserver 8.8.4.4' > /etc/resolv.conf" 4. Firewall Blocking and Network Settings A firewall is a network security device that controls everything entering and leaving your computer while you use the internet. All firewall blocking permissions are based on a set of security rules defined by you in advance. If requests sent by your machine fail to reach our server, it may mean there is network instability, firewall blocking, or blocking on the machine itself. Important: 3.1 Try using another machine connected to a different network to see if the problem is resolved. 3.2 Consult the IT team (infrastructure) to have them check the cause of this blocking in requests sent by your machine. 3.3 You can check other websites that show the tool's connectivity to see if they indicate that the system is online and operating normally.
