We would like to inform you that Meta has currently identified an issue that affects advertisers using the WhatsApp Cloud API and choosing to optimize for “conversations” in their Click to WhatsApp ads.

The metrics for “initiated conversations” are temporarily unavailable in the Ads Manager. However, you can use the Click Tracker to track the results of your campaigns on Blip.

History and Recommendations

During the months of September and October, campaign optimization to maximize “initiated conversations” was temporarily unavailable, and all campaigns with this objective were automatically paused by Meta. During this period, Click to WhatsApp ads were created using the objective to maximize “link clicks”.

Since November, the option to optimize ads for “initiated conversations” has been reactivated, but the metric for initiated conversations remains unavailable in the Ads Manager. Therefore, to track the results of your ads, we recommend using the Click Tracker, a Blip tool where you can also analyze the total conversions of each ad in the conversational flow.

Campaigns that used the optimization for “conversations” and were paused in September will remain paused, and you can now reactivate them. On the other hand, campaigns using optimization for “link clicks” have not been affected and will remain active. You can edit them to use the optimization for “initiated conversations” to achieve better results.
