How to Remove Two-Factor Authentication from a WhatsApp Number August 06, 2026 20:08 Updated Every WhatsApp number, when activated, must have the PIN (two-factor authentication) enabled. This setting prevents the number from being migrated to another WABA (business portfolio). The authentication removal should occur when it is necessary to migrate the number. This process can be done either by the portfolio that owns the WABA or by the BSP where the number was activated, noting that the removal does not impact the number’s operation. The business portfolio is also known as: Business Manager or BM.Before You Start You can only perform the following steps if you have access to the WABA. If you do not have access to the WABA, please request it from your team. Step by Step Access the Business Manager; Enter the number or name of the WABA in the search field; In Summary, click on WhatsApp Manager; Search for the phone number in question; Click the settings icon next to the number; Click on Two-Step Verification; Click on Disable Two-Step Verification; A message will be sent to the email displayed in the previous step. You need to access the inbox of this email. Once accessed, look for the email with the exact subject: Reset WhatsApp Two-Step Verification; Open the email message and click the provided link; Click on “Disable Two-Step Verification”. After completing this entire process, the PIN will be removed immediately. Need more help?
