Context

According to the 'III.E.2a' policy, regarding the use of the YouTube API, only aggregating API data related to YouTube channels owned by the same content owner recognized by YouTube, as per the content licensing agreements between YouTube and the owner, is allowed. These aggregated API data can only be viewed by the content owner. In other words, the API Client cannot combine API data from different content owners.

According to YouTube's current guidelines and policies, data export from the platform is not permitted.

Explanation

In this context, what do we consider as 'Proprietary Data'?

API data related to YouTube channels owned by the same content owner recognized by YouTube, as per the content licensing agreements between YouTube and the owner.

 

Will there be changes in YouTube data collection?

No, YouTube data collection remains unchanged, both regarding the search configuration part and what is collected. What changes is that we will no longer be able to aggregate non-proprietary data. For example, the sentiment distribution chart in the "Overview" section can only contain proprietary data in its composition from now on.

 

What changes in the Product?

Solution for Data Aggregation Policy Compliance:

  • Publication Wall (Publications Filter/ Conversations Filter): The "Publication Wall" screen will remain unchanged, with 'YouTube' in the publications and conversations filter working normally.

  • Zoom (Posts Filter): The YouTube channel will no longer be displayed in any of the "sections" of the "Zoom" screen.

  • Zoom (Conversations Filter): The Zoom accessed from the conversations filter will not undergo any changes.

  • Charts (Publications Filter): All charts generated from the posts filter in the product will no longer display YouTube data.

  • Charts (Conversations Filter): The charts from the conversations filter will remain unchanged, displaying YouTube data normally.

  • Radar: The YouTube channel will no longer be displayed in any of the "sections" of the Radar.

  • Global Filter: The YouTube channel will only be removed from the "Publications Filter".
